I know what you mean. My real name is Ilsa (named after Ingrid Bergman's character in Casablanca), But my friend found out it means "silver" in elvish. Since that's one of my favorite colors, it fit and stuck.

It is actually my name. Or the name I have went by since I was about 5 years old. My real name is only used in legal situations. Once a name sticks with you.....it's there for life I guess. It is the ONLY name I really know.
